    Fibreglass pools are great additions to any home. They will create a glamorous look in your home and are durable, cost-effective and easy to maintain. What’s more? These pools are ideal for homes with several family members. However, rogue pool installers often make costly mistakes, making it critical to hire professional expertise. Are you seeking tips for installing a fibreglass pool in your home? Let’s dive right in!

    1. A solid foundation is key!

    Sounds obvious? Any professional Fiberglass Pool Builder will tell you that this is the reason behind most pool installation failures. Avoid setting the pool on disturbed soil. In some cases, constructors dig very deep holes and have to back up space with soil. This is a NO! Seal with a compactable base material. If this isn’t done right, the ground and the pool will settle eventually. The base material should also be compacted, and this avoids a lot of trouble in the future.

    1. Ensure sound plumbing

    Proper plumbing avoids leaks that can wreck havoc in your pool. There are various things that the pool installer can do to prevent leaks. These include;

    Secure plumbing: Fiberglass pools have a vast amount of backfill material and securing the plumbing ensures that the pool doesn’t settle over time. Plumbing settlement can result in leaks which are costly to repair.

    Use rigid PVC pipes– There are different types of pipes for in-ground polls. A flexible PVC pipe contours easily and is easy to install. But it’s not suitable for underground pools. Moreover, the material is prone to damage from termites.

    1. Use proper pool leveling techniques.

    A fibreglass pool is a one-piece unit, and you don’t expect it to level flawlessly. The best way to level up such pools is by completely lifting the pool form the hole. Moreover, add or remove some material to get it to the desired level. Ensure that the pool rests on the base material without creating voids.

    1. Pour quality coping

    The coping can ruin the entire installation process. Whether installing a Plunge Pool Design, harmony or reflection designs, the coping procedure is the same. Pour cantilevered concrete coping on top of the pool. To achieve a successful cantilevered coping ensures proper form installation.

    The forms should contour with the fibreglass pool. And should be secure enough to withstand the pressure exerted by the concrete. Moreover, place the concrete properly and get rid of air pockets.

    1. Proper backfilling procedure

    Improper backfilling can have dire consequences for your pool. Foremost, compact the backfill material to ensure minimal settlement. If using a sand backfill, saturate it with water every 6-12 inches of lift. However, clean gravel backfill doesn’t require additional compaction since it compacts on placement. Pack the seats and steps with the backfill material to discourage voids. To protect against sagging, use block to back the large steps and benches.

    The bottom line

    For excellent fibreglass pool installation, find the right pool manufacturers and hire skilled contactors. The process involves various procedures, and the role of an expert can’t be overemphasized. A professional installer will avoid common plumbing, leveling, and compaction mistakes that can cost you a lot in the future.
